Tesla Powerwall 3

Tesla Powerwall 3: The Future of Home Energy Management

The Tesla Powerwall series has transformed the way homeowners utilise and store energy. From harnessing surplus electricity generated by solar panels to offering reliable backup during grid outages, battery storage solutions such as Powerwall have become integral to achieving energy independence.

The Powerwall series is going from strength to strength, with the Tesla Powerwall 3 improving upon the Powerwall 2 in a number of ways, such as improved power output. The Powerwall 3 also holds it’s own against competitors , as its combination of higher output power, built-in inverter, and improved efficiency ensures it remains one of the top contenders in the battery storage market.

The process of a Tesla Powerwall installation

Installing Tesla Powerwall battery storage begins with a site assessment. A qualified assessor will listen to your requirements, evaluate your home’s electrical system, available space for siting solar panels and site-specific energy needs. Consideration must be made towards the exact location for siting all equipment to provide your bespoke and accurate price.

Next, the battery and Gateway are then mounted on a wall – indoors or outdoors – and connected to your electrical system. The closer to the incoming supply the better, as this will keep material and installation costs to a minimum.

The Powerwall 3 hybrid controls both the solar and battery within one unit, so there is no need for a separate solar inverter, unless you require the addition of an isolated array of panels (for example, on a garage or outbuilding). In such a situation, we can install a separate string inverter and monitor its activity via the Powerwall 3 hybrid unit using a Current Transformer (CT), allowing ongoing system integration.

After installation, the system is integrated with the Tesla mobile app, allowing you to monitor energy consumption and battery status in real-time. Our installers will run through the Tesla commissioning process and once complete, your system will be switched on. You will immediately have access to free energy and all the great features this market leading system offers.

To ensure a compliant installation, submissions will be made to building regs, NICEIC and MCS. For the final stage of the process we will issue you with your handover pack giving you access to warranties, permissions gained and equipment specific details for your records.

The entire process typically takes one to three days and requires minimal ongoing maintenance, with most adjustments handled through software updates.
